tabsey says:
Over population is the greatest threat to the survival of the human race. It doesn't just happen in poor African countries. The shortage of water and food will soon be everywhere.
Kanck is the devil's advocate on this one and someone has to kick off the thinking process involved..

If population accelerated to 10 times it's current rate, there will never, NEVER, be such thing as over-population. This is just more fear-mongering propagated by ignorant or agenda-driven loons that is soaked up by ignorant and agenda-driven loons.

I see your mastery of the language is slipping. Hope that the reason for this is not serious. Your comment is opinion only and full of ranting.
And how would you propose that these people are fed, or are you not aware of the serious decline in the amount of land for farming, the fact that all continents have areas of drought that are laying waste to the land, the decline in the amount of water available due to rivers being polluted, a decline in food from the sea because fisheries are being fished out.
Maybe in your little world, you do not feel the effects of these factors yet.

good to see someone here raising the population issue; we are the greatest threat to ourselves and so many other species. I think those ideas are good

This politician should lead by example....either kill herself now to save the precious resources she is wasting, or perhaps she and all her followers could be sterilized?

Tabsey, this fearmongering is nothing new. It's been going on for centuries now. Every decade that passes there are more people on Earth and more food surplus each decade. Also, yields per acre have improved tremendously and will continue to do so. Food is now cheaper than it has ever been. You could fit the entire population of Earth in Texas rather comfortably. That leaves a lot of open space in the world. It also is reasonable to assume that in the future food will be able to be produced in ways we cannot even imagine now and people will live and farm in places we cannot fathom, like the Arctic, on ocean cities, on the Moon perhaps, or in orbiting colonies. Just like our advances in food ...

willhelm has this one nailed. Overpopulation will never become a serious issue on a world scale.

Wilhelm, things may be fine in America but there are actually people in other countries who are starving.
I base my opinion on overpopulation from reading such people as David Attenborough. As for your comment about everyone going to Texas and living comfortably, I leave now.

Antara, your vindictive comments show how a true christian reacts to things she doesn't like?

How is it vindictive?

If they really believed their own bs, they would lead by example!

Hoping someone kills herself is not a pleasantry.

Tabsey, it is her own rhetoric that would lead one to ask:
Well, If she and her followers TRULY believe there are too many people--why does she not lead by example and stop consuming the ever-so-precious resources?

I never, ever said I "hoped" someone would kill themselves.
