"It was reported today, that during air raids over Berlin, children were killed. U.S. Military sharply criticized. Investigations underway"

JJm I no longer read GD messages. I certainly hope he didn't blame the child for being in the vacinity of Zarqawi.

It's an absolute shame that anyone got killed or injured outside of this scumbag but collateral damage is an unforunate part of war. While we are concerned with this kind of thing, there are far more war mongers that could give a crap. Let's not beat the drum of intolerance for our own country for the sake of making one person look bad.

"While we are concerned with this kind of thing"...

Exactly. I only clipped factual information here, because I think it is important to be concerned with "collateral damage". There was nothing in my clip that expressed criticism of the military, or "intolerance for our own country'.

Folks, there is certain uneasyness when we see State murdering people especially families with child and women. I don't know about others, but regardless of the sin and evilness of any person, something does not look right when State kills and shows the pictures around all over the world.

And speaking of pictures of dead people being shown around the world, can anyone recall any other country who has done exactly the same for their enemies?

Well Jk, the problem is that there has been a lot of what some of us consider USA bashing purely for the sake of trying to make Bush look bad. I totally understand your point of view but I do feel the media is hyping the negative while down playing any positive results which fuels the fires below.

Let's think about this for a moment and ask yourselves these questions.

Why do terrorists so quickly send out pictures of our people they have killed? Why would they brag about such a thing?

If the media here at home commits the same act of publication, wouldn't that put them on a similar level? Are they doing this to garner sympathy? If so, for who? Where is the line drawn between publication to generate hate and that to generate sympathy?

GD, I realize it's easier to ignore your abrasive comments like usual, but ocassionally I have to wonder in amazement at your Clipmarks strategy. Other clipsters have learned that the best way to deal with clips they don't care for is by ignoring them. For some reason you feel compelled to bring attention to the clips you appear to despise the most, ironically exposing their contents to a much larger audience then they would have.

This wouldn't puzzle me as much if you incorporated convincing arguments, outside sources, historical references, detailed analysis and such to illustrate your point. But wh...

I've been wondering that myself.

I do ignore the ones that I don't care for.
Some clips elicit simple statements of disgust, as this one.
Others elicit questions. Others are topics and issues that I have an interest in discussing.

As far as what you take from my comments or what you read into them, clearly this is going to be subjective and will vary just as my responses vary. I really have no expectations, and no purpose. I'm just an individual participating as anyone else. We all have different styles. I like it like that.

Jason and Josh... GD can be forthright, harsh and sometimes even I don't understand his comments. The only thing I would like to say is that he has, for the most part, not injected any personal attacks.

The only exception to the above would be in reference to those that have attacked him personally first.

Many of us do not agree on the things the media, pundits and others have to say. We should all be allowed to attack the articles, thoughts and ideas, not each other. Yes, I've slipped a few times on the latter but usually I offer and apology or a clarification to a misunderstanding.

BBW, although I appreciate your sentiment, I need no defense. Only the loons need to band together; strength in numbers standing in for strength of argument. Group think.

Not only have I not engaged in personal attacks, I haven't been personally attacked. No one here has. Anyone who thinks they have been is delusional. With the exception of a few of us, we don't know each other personally. If you don't know me personally you might {i]attempt[/i] to attack me personally; you may get a feeling that you have done so, but. if you do, it's your personal illusion, and nothing to do with my reality.

So, when someone uses a collection of pixels on their computer screen called Godfre...

Ya know I got to thinking... how come "pillage and plunder" hasn't been added to the list of things we're accused of? At least then the circle would be complete.

GD I wasn't defending you. Lord knows you don't need it. I was explaining my take on you. Good description on the personal attack thing but I guess I see it differently.

And I concur with Deepti, that doll is just too cute Jason.

I think the reason the photos play a more prominent part in this war is because the technology allows them to be so. Pretty much all of the prior wars didn't have the advantages of digital camera, the Internet access by the masses etc. So, saying that more photos are shown and seen could be attributed to that.

Godfrey Daniel's doll is pretty cool... from looking at it one can deduce that he's a very slender man who always smiles. How bad can that be?
