Hey. Nobody ever said it had to be true.

It's true in a ... "spiritual" sense! It's a ... "higher" form of truth... so it doesn't actually have to "BE" true; just have a true ... um... inner meaning.

Yeah; that's the ticket!

It's true "inwardly!"

This only reveals that you have not *studied* enough. You can't *arrive* at understanding or knowledge from just a superficial glance, or say "oh, that's a contradiction'. Too bad, so sad.

I've been at this for 36 yrs. You can say what you want. AND ridicule what you want. But there is more to this than any of us can imagine. There's a reason this Book has been around for several thousands of years and why so many believe there's reasons to make it a major plum-line for our lives. And there's reason why some people want to attack it and/or discredit it. If it were nothing, it would have disappeared centuries ago.

Why would god's communication with me have to be through a book?

To even begin such a premise, starts with the question about the book, with "Is it true?"

If the answer is "no" I cannot in any way assume the information in that book is from a god.

This in no way suggests that falsehoods are not valuable. Clearly the book has been valuable to millions.

But to suggest that falsehoods and factual errors that I know a god (worth his salt) should not make, is clear evidence to ME that the book you "think" is holy, is not MY idea of a divine source.

To wit: if it's not factually true, how can I trust it to be from a god?

The first way God reveals Himself is through His Creation.

"Rom 1:20 For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, because they are understood through what has been made. So people are without excuse."

Yes, there is. Because men sought to control other men by telling what and how to think and used it as tool for doing so. "It ain't rocket science", as the saying goes.

Myth is not burden by contradictions.

Is there a reason an all powerful being cannot reveal himself? To say he reveals himself "through" something else, only reveals the "something else".

Why can't he simply reveal himself! To say he reveals himself through his creation is to start with the premise you're trying to conclude.

"Rom 1:20 For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, because they are understood through what has been made. So people are without excuse."
A complete circle.
