I already commented on this 'new' material months ago here on Clipmarks and even have the D.O.D. looking into it for bullet proof vests and lightweight armour plating. And I'm not even being paid to do their work for them. Guess I better send them the bill.

This stuff is pretty cool. Saw a video of this stuff once. When dropped it falls pretty slowly and when it hits it makes a crystalline sound. I thought I had seen a test where it was married (baked in?) to 1/4 inch aluminum and it increased the strength enough to stop some pretty solid rounds.

Stuff crushes down very small as well, but I believe recall reading how it can get into your skin very easily and irritate you like fiberglass?
