The Roman rich seemed to enjoy walking on mosaic nudes. :~) The article mentions that the pictures are "unusual". I wonder what he means...I've seen a lot of similar "pictures" in ancient history and archeology books and from other cultures too.

They are most likely "unusual" for the particular place they were found and time period they represent.
