OK, I personally believe the holocaust happened, but, I still have one question: Why is it so important to Jews that everyone has to be on board with this belief? Can't we allow for free thought and opinions?

Are you for real?!? If G-d Forbid such a thing happened to which ever nation you are from and the world was saying that it didn't would you even think to ask such a question? If Heavens Forbid your family (great-uncles, aunts, grandparents etc...) were murdered just because they were from a certain nationality, would you expect your friends to allow other people to say that you are making it all up and that it never really happened?!?
Why is there even room for debate whether history happened or not? Meaning I can't come and decide that the American revolutionary war never took place, can I? It's not a matter of opinion!
Not to mention that the people who lived through it are still ...

Of course not. However, let's say it did happen to my nation. or people, would I demand that those without that experience be forced into believing what I believe, because of My experience? Or maybe, not even question? No! I would simply think 'they don't know the truth,' that's all, let them question.

(continued) grandparents would like it told. So what! My people were killed because of their love for justice and the belief in human equality. They lost the land known today as Texas because of it, yet, history is taught with a completely different story than my people know it. You think no one else knows this feeling but you? Wake up! The world is filled with this and still we must allow opposing opinions or we become dictators ourselves.

I'm sorry, but I don't see how insisting the holocaust happened makes me a dictator!
The fact that there are other things in history that people try to cover up is not a news flash, and I do not think they are right either!!!
What's your point, that we should all live in our own delusions with no connection to reality if we don't feel like it, or if it makes us uncomfortable or doesn't match our personal agenda? Will that change what happened and make it all better? NO!!! The only thing it will do is make people angry and left speechless at the lack of sensitivity and abundance of cruelty (etc...) that this stems from. And yes it does matter! Not only to each individual, but also to nations, which influences politics and the future.

I have my "delusions," you have yours, and others have theirs. If someone discusses my delusions with me and I see fit to change my delusions to fit their argument and view of reality, then that is fine and my business. However, if you "insist" that people change their "delusions" to fit your view of reality, then yes, you are a dictator. If you truly think someone is wrong then reason with them, but to deny them even to question, discuss, analyze, or think about a given historical scenario, you ARE a dictator!
