Leviticus 11:9-12 says:

9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

Writer A.J. Jacobs wrote a book called "The Year of Living Biblically", detailing his attempt to spend a year following as many of the fules found in the bible as he could. This meant not just the commandments, but other things like not wearing blended fabrics, not trimming his beard, wearing tassels "on the edges of his garments", bath after sex, don't eat the fruit of a tree less than five years old (the tree, not the fruit) and so forth. He had a list of some seven hundred rules to follow. The results of some were humorous, like his quest to stone an adulterer; others were just downright nuts.

I know there were some of clips about this guy, but the only ones I could find were about ...

I had snapper, stuffed with lemon balm and thyme. Caught today, 5kms out.
Eels often don't have much in the way of fins. They are classified as fish. What are their scales like? I thought they were considered not on the menu by some groups. Others love them. Did you know the blood is toxic unless cooked? Found that but nothing on scales.
Never caught one.
