Debby, I understand there is no cure for child molesters either.

I have heard of a cure to homosexuals when they became Christians. The Bible states about pre-homosexuals to Christians, "such were some of you".

There is no cure for homosexuality because it's not a disease. It's not something bad that needs to be cured. The idiot ministers doing these "gay exorcisms" need to be slapped silly. People need to take a moment and meet someone who is gay instead passing judgment based on their interpretation of the Bible. I know many Christians who have no problem whatsoever with gay people or their lifestyle. The assholes like Fred Phelps. a Democrat I might add, is a stain on the human race. He needs to read the bible. What he has isn't a church, it's a place where idiots gather. We don't all have to agree. It would be nice to see everyone treating others with respect though.

COT, I am usually in agreement with you, but not on this one. The scripture is clear about the condemnation of homosexually. Even though some gays can be the nicest people, God does not see it that way. He calls it an abomination. Most Christians don't judge people who are homosexuals, God does.

Reflecting the times in which it was written, traces of both primitive attitudes toward sex in general can be found throughout Scripture. Religious conservatives base their crusade against gays on the Bible. They get so wrapped up in the ancient proscriptions of Leviticus or the personal hang-ups of St. Paul that they lose sight of the big picture which is this: God loves all of His creation--and so should we.

I would really appreciate it in the future if you would refrain from trying to make some vague insinuation that homosexuals are just like child molesters. It's a homophobic comment and it's just plain ignorant and wrong.

So God has changed? Hmmm, the Scripture says He never changes. Who decided that this condemnation from God about homosexuality results from a primitive attitude, someone smarter than God? Why is God condemning people to hell if He loves them?

Since the article declared there is no cure for homosexuality, I was just pointing out that the "experts" also decided that there is no cure for child molesters either. Is that homophobic?

Your particular knit and selectively pick interpretation of scripture is wrong. You can't understand anything but a literal approach and that's a shame. But it's your choice and understand by making that choice, you are making your God in your light. If it suits you, then fine. Just don't impose it upon me because that is not my God, and you are talking to a person who has studied the history of the Bible extensively.

And yes, it is homophobic to say that child molesters have no cure in the same breath with a comparison to sexual orientation.
