I read recently (unfortunately, I can't recall where), that Christians and Jews were well-tolerated and allowed to freely practice in Iran. On the other hand, apostasy is considered a crime under shari'a, but that could be viewed as an internal matter for the Muslim establishment. I was raised Catholic, and was told that I would go straight to hell if I ever left the church. I'm sure that if I lived in a place with Catholicism as the state religion and Canon law as the law of the land, I'd be in jail, too. Then again, this is Fux News.
