 BANGALORE: The RSS on Thursday
demanded the Centre to enact a legislation to ban religious conversion. RSS
functionary Srikanth Joshi told<TABLE cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="left"><TBODY><TR><TD id="bellyad"></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> reporters here that the existing provision in
the constitution allows people to profess, practice and propagate any religion
freely. "But it does not grant freedom to convert others. Therefore, the Centre
should enact an effective law to ban religious conversion".

proselytizing activities and blasphemous propaganda by evangelical organizations
have hurt some people in parts of the state," he
