At last! The High School royal couple is not necessarily of opposite gender. I have nothing against the King and Queen of the prom concept, but I always felt that what if a same-sex couple entered? Why couldn't they be in the running as well, and be elected as the couple that exemplifies their school? Well, once again progressive California has come through for us. Or should I say, the progressive area of California. Is anyone surprised it didn't happen in Massachusetts first?

As I live and breath I thought this would never come forward! Here in my small town of Bloomington IN I thought back in 1987 it was a big deal when one of my best friends took a "drag queen" to the prom, this shows there is always room for advancements. Much love to them both.
