I once fell asleep on a Chicago El and woke up at the end of the line. Fortunately, there were still return trains running.

I don't know how people can sleep on trains like that. I'd be to afraid I'd miss my stop.

It's not that hard. The older trains have a rhythmic rocking motion that gets to be rather soothing once you get used to it.
