The Godley & Creme-directed video depicted a wrestling match between Reagan and then Soviet leader Konstantin Chernenko
for the benefit of group members and an eagerly belligerent assembly of
representatives from the world's nations, the event ultimately
degenerating into complete global destruction.

A longer version of the video (based on the "Hibakusha" mix) included an introductory cut-up monologue by Richard Nixon ("No firm diplomacy... No peace for America and the world"), plus similar contributions from other world leaders, including Lord Beaverbrook, Yasser Arafat and John F. Kennedy.
The complete soundtrack to the extended video was eventually released
as "Two Tribes (Video Destructo)" on the German version of the Twelve Inches
compilation. A third version of the video, included on the band's
compilation of videos, retains the introduction, but loses most of the
inserted clips in the main wrestling sequence.

I understand why you are using the peace icon but it has been brought to my attention that there is a group of people out there whom I believe you may not realize are being upset by the use of the symbol. This group of people were treated unjustifiably bad by people brandishing the peace symbol. They now view the peace symbol as a logo for those who treated them with such contempt. I am sure (I hope) that it is not your intent to cause this group disrespect or emotional harm. We owe these people much for the sacrifice that gave for our country. Who are they? The Vietnam veterans gave much of themselves during their service to this country and they were unjustifiably spat upon for it. If you disagree with the war, put your anger and blame where is belongs, on the government officials who make the decisions and not on the service man and women.

The service men and women should always be held in high regards for the sacrifices in their lives made in the service of our country. There is no greater friend then one who is willing to lay down their life for you. The service men and women are our great friends for they are willing to do this in combat for this nation, for you and I.

Please make note, I do not think that in this time period, the intended target of the peace symbol is the men and women of the armed service. That being said, please keep in mind, there is a whole generation of service men and women out there who will be terribly offended by the use of the symbol. So I ask you, please, let us not make the same mistakes made before in the past. Let us be sensitive to the hearts of those well deserving individuals and not through this symbol in their face. Let us practice what we preach and show a little true compassion and empathy.

Recently, I failed to realize an unintended impact of my words and it was brought to my attention. I am now trying to make corrections so that I will not offend those whom I do not intend to offend. I just am now going to be more careful to watch for the potential for collateral damage when I offend. I also will be trying not offend just for the sake of being offensive.
