skwirlinator says: If YOU could ask the Presidential Nominees some questions about presidency, What would YOU ask them. Here is a few I volunteered as a comment on another clip. The voice of Clipmarks explores the meaning of Government Officials and finding the right person for the job. This clip is for YOUR comments and questions, I would really like to read what is important in finding the right person to be president. After reading these, How many officials qualify in your eyes? Shouldn't the people have some say on government spending? Are you for inherent tax? why is the constitution being used to take basic rights and choices away from the public? Nice questions but lets try not to be too confrontational. Lets word this like it was to a panel of candidates. Shouldn't the people have some say on government spending? What would you do to assure the American people have a voice on the decisions related to government spending? Are you for inherent tax? What are your views on the inheritance tax? why is the constitution being used to take basic rights and choices away from the public? What will you do to reaffirm the Constitution and restore the rights of the people in our nation? Forgive me if I destroyed your questions. It was not intentional. I think they are very good ones. You are right, I was being confrontational. I didn't realize it till I looked back on your clip. I am very upset with the condition of our government and I let my passion override my good since, just a tad. So I must humbly respect your advise, no forgiveness necessary. We all get passionate about these things. The only way to be heard is to try to be as stale and dry as the candidate. When passions rule the way you are dismissed before you get started. The trick is to word the questions so they have a way to save dignity. We would be able to weed out the unqualified by observing the spontaneous reactions and listening to them trip-up on their greed and ignorance. The candidates that have the right answers should be the only ones that are permitted to run. That won't even assure success but at least we will know they know what we expect from them. What are your concerns about the present status of health care in the us, and how do you think health car could be more effective and affordable to the public? What are your thoughts of the future of Social Security and does it serve its function? Do you believe that this country has environmental responsibilities to the entire world and should curtail our dependency on oil? What alternative fuels would best suit this countries needs and its economy? What can be done to increase the quality of life for minimum wage American workers and their families? What is the weight comparison of the influence you give corporate entities to that of the lone American taxpaying citizen? Will there be standards established for punishing criminals that commit heinous crimes against people and society? A national standard sentence for murder, rape and kidnapping? How would you curtail the runaway authority of government entities and agencies and regulate them to the laws of the nation and restrictions of the budget? How will you stop rider clauses in bills that contradict the will of the people? What is the first thing you would do if you found out y... C'mon Clipmarks, I want to see your questions. Our present situation won't change until We The People get our shit together and elect good people. Its gotta start somewhere! For all the comments of people complaining I don't see many comments here. "What will you do to bring manufacturing and jobs back to the U.S. ? "What is the U.S. doing to encourage and support alternative energy sources, and what more can we do?" "In light of all the corruption and greed in Corporate America, how are you going to put in safeguards to stop it?" "America is severely in debt to China and other nations, how are we going to pay them back?" "America has more enemies than ever before, what are you going to do to ensure the safety of the American people?" "Many companies have gone overseas to make more money. How can you bring them back to the U.S?" "Do we really, really need all those nuclear warheads we have? Couldn't we save alot of... Oh, BTW Skwirlinator- Great clip. Good content, focus and execution. POP! Good stuff! Keep em comin! Maybe someone important enough will see them and start asking these questions for us. Thanks RealNapster - I knew you had some Good ones! Will there be a focus on removing obsolete programs from the nation's budget? Of the surplus food stores that must be destroyed each year, How much can be sold to pay down our foreign debt? What can be done to limit the authority of major corporate entities in our nation's issues? How will you restore scientific discovery and educational questing to the people of our nation? How will you make citizenship available to immigrants and their families? Do you have any ideas for major projects to create jobs, pride and modernism to our nation? What can you do to put real money into the hands of the working American? What can America as a nation do to greatly benefit mankind? Can you give a... When is joking the appropriate answer? What is the proper response when you don't know the answer? Who is the press? How will you know the real nation's needs and desires? What steps will you take to promote peace? How many truths are there? Where is your place? Where do native American Indians fit in your views of the nation? Who is the backbone of this nation? How should a dishonest president be dealt with? When? Will the nation's train/freight infrastructure be brought to modern levels? What can we learn from our allies? What can we learn from our enemies? Should the USA adopt a Laissez-faire stance with the world until our image can be repaired? Do you have "A New Deal" in ... I believe you are becoming too embroiled in the intricacies of the law and constitution to much. Why did we become a great power ? Why did people around the world look up to and follow our trends before 9/11 ? Why are we stereotyped as stupid across the globe ? Can we rebuild our nations credibility as a protector of democracy ? I believe your nations ills come from the invasion of Vietnam onwards, when America was defeated in this war it lost its way. It became paranoid and belligerent, like a man who could not believe he was beaten by the smaller opponent and has to prove himself again and again. Kennedy was right in refusing to escalate military action in Vietnam. Hence assassinatio... Do you hear mysterious voices telling you what to do? LOL who? What, I go to bed and wake up and noone has the guts to continue? Will you rescind the Monroe Doctrine? The Monroe Doctrine is a U.S. doctrine which, on December 2, 1823, proclaimed that European powers would no longer colonize or interfere with the affairs of the newly independent nations of the Americas. The United States planned to stay neutral in wars between European powers and their colonies. However, if these latter types of wars were to occur in the Americas, the United States would view such action as hostile. Thanks, Interesting question A new day and a new change to ponder... Do you think America needs to repair it's government? Do you feel there is 'too much' or 'not enough' debate on the issues of the nation? Do you feel the American people have to be told what is good for them? Who decides the action of the nation? What is our role in the United Nations? Is there a way to stop a war on ideals? How will we honor the fallen in the War against Terror? Can Veterans Affairs be fixed? When will we collect on the debt of other nations? What does the 9th amendment mean to you? As far as a non-citizen of the USA concerns, ... might I add to this discussion that its (even were it slightly) imperial, world-policing "external affairs" give me the rightfull power to provide some input ... so Will you continue this policy of "pre-emptive strike"? Are you going to stay in Iraq? Attack Iran? And North-Korea? The Whole Axis of Evil? Should we (non us-citizens) totally abandon the idea of multi-lateral dialogue? Forget the Geneva convention? What is your view on the United Nations? Is "coalition of the willing" going to be the general rule? I welcome your questions Djiezes As we should all. Part of being president is dealing with the concerns of the world and bringing those concerns back to the people so we may attend those concerns with the image of our nation. By stifling the voices of the world's nations or selecting only certain parts is the same as lying to the people. If you do your job as president we can accurately task you on the proper responses. I believe the only question is Will you listen ? I believe there are many questions that need asked before we elect our next president. For far too long we have not asked the right questions and have received what we deserve. We should relentlessly drill them until WE ARE SATISFIED they are right for the job at hand. These are great questions and have made me think a lot about the candidates and where they could take us as a nation. My concern: Easy to say the right thing, hard to do the right thing. I believe the government is a beast that feeds on self profit and promotion. Any candidate would need great character and will to stand against it for this nation and its public, I'm not sure any such person is on my list, so is the public forced in to voting for a less than candidate, I think so. I would love to see a candidate that wants to cultivate what this nation is made of, its people the families and our freedom that so much blood has been spilled for, like a father does for his children. He or... try not to be too confrontational.Yea, i know. sorry. I doubt we know how to pick the right person for the job anymore. This is an effort to start some people thinking about what is acceptable and what is not. We need to establish what we expect out of our representatives and then hold them accountable for making it happen. The day of the puff-shirt cigar smoking old belligerent naysayer is over. We the People need to be running this nation not the other way around. Great Leaders are not born, They are created by the followers. If we want great leaders, we have to raise our standards. we have to raise our standards.Exactly... I still want more questions. We should be flooding this clip with all the bashing and belly-aching that I see. C'mon people what questions do you want to ask your next president? These questions should be asked anytime a representative is being elected. It would be a simple thing to sway it to reflect congressmen and any other public official. Still looking for questions I believe that quote is incomplete, the Monroe Doctrine no longer represents an anti-imperial stance, but the opposite, that the U.S. reserves the right to intervene in the affairs of its neighbors as it sees fit. All thanks to TR and his gunboat diplomacy. |
