Wisco says: What he said. It's hard for me to believe that anyone could see that cover and not think it's satire. I suppose, in getting bent out of shape over the cover, the Obama campaign has a tangible target instead of a shadowy email smear campaign. I doubt the outrage is over the cover, but over the perception it satirizes. For me, the cover's a non-issue and I'm done with it. If it was a photo of her in the nude, could America deal with it? There have been many nude photos of the French president's wife and no one on this side of the Atlantic got too excited. It may not do Obama's campaign any good but it wont do America any harm in the long run if it faces its demons. IMO, the KKK is only a white sheet away, no matter how it's dressed up. One benefit of this is that we'll see who still retains their white sheet! Frankly, has anyone who thinks Obama is a Muslim ever heard of the New Yorker? The level of ignorant gullibility necessary for the former seems an unlikely mix with the latter. They wouldn't get the jokes. The incredible ignorance it must take for a man running for president of the United States to suggests a POLITICAL CARTOON might be offensive to Muslims is astounding. Is he that much of an idiot? Does he not read about Muslims who pretend to be "offended" by political cartoons? His judgement is pathetic. Has he heard of Denmark? It isn't one of our 57 states. As to whether or not he is Muslim, who knows? We know he used to be a Muslim. We know he appears to be an adherent of Black Liberation Theology, a Marxist theology that celebrates the venom of Louis Farrakhan, who is a Muslim, and more closely resembles the actions of contentious Islamists than it does Christianity. Anyway, that is ... Obviously you don't know squat. willhelm provides an excellent example of the ignorant and the gullible. In addition, you can practically smell the anti-Islamic bigotry. Christian supremacism isn't any better than white supremacism. @ righthand: There have been many nude photos of the French president's wife and no one on this side of the Atlantic got too excited.I would say that on this side of the ocean there was probably considerable private excitement, but not of the angry sort! Delicately put. Private excitement. I love it. The beauty of understatement. The wit will be lost on those most in need. LOL - thanks! |
