I don't have a clue as to what this this means; but it is a very pretty picture!

There's an animation on the web page which shows how the various nodes supply data and then delegate that data to the other nodes (typically other computers) over time.

The upshot of all this sharing is that when you use BitTorrent to find something to download, you're not relying on just one server. Chances are, there are loads of computers with the data you're looking for.
