You would think this is all just common sense. The fact that it should be declared and used as a reminder... well that just scares me.

The USA is currently violating this charter. The very country that has championed human rights and exported democracy through the barrel of the gun, has been hung with its own petard. There is no going back now - no redemption from this failure.
