During a feature for the latest issue, the three times World champion talked about Valentino Rossi eventually making a move to WSB, either full-time or as a wild card entry and said: "I would enjoy racing against him in the WSB championship. Our competition has always been ready and he is itching to race against me again."

Max is also quoted as talking about a meeting between him and Marco Melandri, saying: "We were in Australia, having dinner when he sees me and comes over. He says 'Hi Max, how are you?' his breath smelled suspiciously of alcohol and he went on, 'You always ride hard and you go very hard, even on the Yamaha. For me, you are the strongest!'"
