Does everyone want to be rich and famous? What is this guys definition of success though? Everyone has their own view of it... someone who is happy living quietly and comfortably can feel successful but be considered a failure by someone else because he/she isn't rich and powerful. I don't see how the definition of success is an issue. If you have a goal, then you will either succeed or fail. Period. If your goal is unrealistic to your potential then you will fail. However...no one knows their potential until they commit themselves completely to their goal. There are people in life who achieve their goals...and then they set new ones. I can see how the 'goal' of success would be relative. I know what mine is and it has nothing to do with being powerful, influential, or even rich. It has to do with being at peace...in my heart, in my family, within my sphere of life. That may not be achievable because it involves others. But that's still my "goal". Soooo.... being the Eeyore that I am, I'll fail. :~( Soooo.... being the Eeyore that I am, I'll fail. :~(Jatfla, I'll pray for peace for you. The only person you need for peace in your life is Jesus, which you have. I was just thinking the other day that "the less I want, the happier I am." I mean wanting material things, but also other things, like control. It's not like I'm anti-goal or anything. LOL. I've failed plenty in my search for peace. A lot of people plan their vacations better than they do their lives. Escaping is easier than changing sometimes. its true and we are all 'people' Thanks mousie. You're the best. Husband has planned his retirement since we were first married. (weird man.) All that was a good thing as we are nearing that goal. But who knows? "People fail because they don’t realize the importance of thought." [or planning] As a blanket statement, I completely agree with it. How often we cannot say what's so easy to feel and why we choosing simply pray or making with devil deal? |
