Excellent contribution. There are some, indeed - even on CM - who simply didn't get it, and feel like it's a failure because it didn't supply an appropriately simplistic sound bite. Funny, tho - two weeks ago the rant was that he was secretly a Muslim radical; now it's that he's the wrong kind of Christian. Could it be that there have been so few cross-racial platforms for the thoughts of Americans of color to be aired, that some of us have simply never heard mainstream thought from non-white America? I have to wonder how much denial one must be in to assume that those who did not "get it" did not "get it" because there was no "simplistic sound bite" mixed in with all the condescension, blame, equivalence, cowardly deflection, cynicism, appeals to ignorance by point of esoteric knowledge, lack of originality despite the myth-making and complete lack of sincerity proven by later comments. Simply simplistic. Let us see if the process of coming to terms with Obama's racism continues the path from denial to anger. Then to bargaining, depression, and lastly acceptance. I suspect it have a long pause in the denial phase and even longer still in the anger phase. Well, I'm satisfied with those who did get it. A Fox News poll, repeat Fox News poll, shows that only 24% of people believe Obama shares Reverand Wright's views. 24%, that's about the core of Bush's failing support. Makes sense. Wonder who is the most in denial in this string of comments? Here's some reading material: Polls suggest Obama rebounding from pastor flap I'm sure that the portion of America paying attention were hardly given a secure feeling from John McCain needing to be whispered in his ear that Al-Qaeda are Sunni's and therefore would not go to Shia Iran as he was claim... obama is half white, wilhelm! you honestly believe that he's racist about himself?!? i understand what color his skin is and that perhaps because of that he may have faced some issues he wouldn't have if his skin were lighter. but i sincerely doubt that he's racist being that half his family is white. I thought public addresses were supposed to be written so a 7th grader could understand them? obama is half white, wilhelm! you honestly believe that he's racistYou can only judge a man by his actions. Words do not mean very much. If a man is a member of the KKK for 20 years, then I think it is fair to assume he is a racist. If a man adheres to a racist theology for 20 years, then I think it is fair to at least raise the question. You certainly would if the tables were turned. The nature of the defense of Obama and attacks against the questioners suggest those on the Left do not want to know the answer. We know from the experience of just about every issue the Left do not like questions and we on the Right know the reasons why. Especially when those like me (a fo... (a former Liberal)I should say former Leftist. I am still a Liberal in the classical sense. Or you can go with the conservatives who spew out this kind of garbage: Now it's time for McCain to explain his acceptance of support from and public appearances with evangelist Rod Parsely, who has stated Islam is inspired by demons and it's America's destiny to destroy it, and with the Rev. John Hagee, who has called the Catholic Church a false cult and called for bombing Iran to hasten the apocalypse. i was under the impression that the right-wing didn't like questions. oh, wait. i forgot. they just pretend like they didn't hear them. i was under the impression that the right-wing didn't like questions. It is interesting that this is what your are doing right now. i didn't actually see any question marks in your comment. i didn't actually see any question marks in your comment.I was not talking about my comment. I was talking about the questions from the Right. My comment is obviously rhetorical and open-ended which proves you are continuing to "pretend" you "didn't hear them". Lets all pretend Willhelm doesn't exist. First rule of the Interwebs...don't feed the Trolls. First rule of politics, don't call everyone too stupid to understand what you are saying when they hear you and disagree. That is not the way to win votes. |
