Environmental and energy policies are two things I tend to agree on with Schwarzenegger. Drilling for more oil will do nothing to lower current or even near-term energy prices. That's because finding new oil sources is not the issue.

Demand far outpacing oil supply is the issue. We need to find new energy sources - not more oil. Any extra oil to be found would get soaked up by the market immediately, doing little if nothing to oil and energy prices.

Finding alternate, large-scale sources of energy is the only thing that will keep prices in check, let alone save the environment.
