brightlight4 says: Much more at source *sigh* what next? I guess my substitute soy for cheese lasagne is not healthy after all. It seems nothing is safe to eat anymore. @KK: I know the feeling, I drink soy milk, but I thought you should know what the article said, especially about how Asians use soy and why they are so healthy. I think we manipulate food far too much in our food industries and maybe just plain natural food would be far better for us than some of the stuff scientists have discovered over the years. First eggs were very bad for us and now they aren't so bad, etc., etc., etc. Men! WARNING! Avoid soy at all costs. It causes gynecomastia. Steve, is that a serious warning or sarcasm? Steve, is that a serious warning or sarcasm?A serious warning. It's printed on a sign in one of the local gyms frequented by serious bodybuilders. Many body builders, in some of our local gyms, who have used soy as a cheaper protein substitute for Whey Protein have experienced enlarged breasts and water retention. When they switched to Whey protein the fatty breast tissue gradually receded. I am not an endocrinologist, but I, personally, am not willing to put my endocrine balance to the test by using products, such as soy, If you google "Soy and Gynecomastia you'll come across reports like these: 1. "A 60-year-old man was referred to the endocrinology clinic for evaluat... Thanks for the info Steve, I thought you were another negative poster just having a bash I thought you were another negative poster just having a bashNot my style, brightlight4. I'm not in the business of making enemies. Me neither but there are some who .......... as you may well know. Pleased to meet a civilised person on here then Steve brightlight4. I just happened to check your location. A very close friend of mine who served with me in the Army Security Agency, recently returned from Cordoba, Spain. It's his ancestral home. He blogged about his trip here: John Gonzalez www.fleetfeettoeurope.blogspot.com I don't think it's loading. here is an email he sent me: Yes, Steve Spain is my ancestral home. My great great grandfather was from Cordoba, he left Spain around 1825 and settled in Puerto Rico his name was Marcos Evangelista Gonzalez de la Cruz de Cordoba, it's said that he held the title of the Marquis de Plata. Marcos's son, my great grandfather, was Jose Vicente Gonzalez de la Rivera. Jose was one of the leaders of the Puerto Rican independence movement against Spain. He was captured and imprisoned at El Morro fortress where he was scheduled to be hung. Then the Spanish-American war broke out and another of the clan met the US Army and helped them to get into El Morro and rescue Jose. ... Yes Steve, it loaded and I read a very interesting comment on Barcelona and Antoni Gaudi, whose architecture I love (I lived in Barcelona for some time) and his comments on the Mosque/Cathedral in Cordoba. The king Carlos V (I think) gave permission to build the cathedral inside of the mosque, but later when he saw the result he swore he would never have permitted the destruction of the mosque for the cathedral if he had seen it first. Another interesting area is Medinah Azahara, built outside of Cordoba as a Palace for one of the Moorish princesses. There is information in English on websites, along with photos too, if you are interested. The history of your friend's family sounds fascinating too!! Nice to meet you |
