Did you know that the cricket chirps faster when the temperature is warmer? I DO NOW ! 95 degrees in Detroit and the crickets sing! *rolling eyes*

Dolbear's Law states the relationship between the ambient temperature and the rate at which crickets chirp. It was formulated by Amos Dolbear and published in 1897 in an article called "The Cricket as a Thermometer".

bookchick49, sounds like ear plugs are in order or noise-cancelling headphones playing Motown... not necessarily going to help you sleep, but at least you'll be listening to local legends, not crickets
