Many of those who believe 9/11 was an inside job are conservatives. Many supported the war. Many of them dismissed anyone who disputed the official version of 9/11 as whackos and paranoids and leftwingers -- until they looked honestly at the evidence, and set aside what they wanted or didn't want to believe. Name calling is a fascist tactic that smacks of Bill O'Reilly. Time is on the side of those who believe 9/11 is an inside job -- unless, of course, the masterminds of the operation pull off another false-flag operation and declare martial law and make it illegal to mention it. Think they won't do it? Look into Operation Gladio. False flag terror is standard operation procedure for western governments, and has been since Guy Fawkes. I wonder if you realize that personal attacks on the issue discredit nobody but yourself? I'm still curious as to why debris was carted off without more than cursory inspection. As I understand, It was moved and destroyed so quickly it was illegal. It raises my suspicion, regardless of whatever ad hominem attacks you decide to throw my way as a result of my being curious. I just want answers. I'm curious about the people who made a massive killing (pun intended) on the stock market playing off of the airline stocks of the airlines involved in those attacks. Did we ever identify them? Such a huge aberration in normal trading, with so specific and accurate a future time frame, raises questi... Such a huge aberration in normal trading, with so specific and accurate a future time frame, raises questi... hahahaha, I love these nut jobs, they are like the people who tell you the Jews really planned the holocaust (you know it was a hell-of-a-cost) so they can use their mystical powers to control the world in 2020. hahaha, just laugh at them, nothing pisses them off more. It is a riot listening to them talk. It is a riot listening to them talk.Oh man.....this is hilarious. I wouldn't have thought any of these "nut jobs" would post to defend these crazy views. The fact that tintintin suggests that the majority of these folk are conservative even adds a new layer to the conspiracy. All those conservatives must have posed as Democrats to the pollsters to aid in their false flag projects, right? So funny! Do you, BitDrifter and cniq_cniq, have complete trust in your government, at all times, regardless of who leads it? Did you know Bush Jr is really an alien from Mars attempting to destabilize our planet for a Martian invasion? He was also responsible for the Kennedy assassination and the start of the Vietnam war! Entertaining comment. But it does avoid the question. Do you, BitDrifter and cniq_cniq, have complete trust in your government, at all times, regardless of who leads it?I, for one, have a whole lot less faith in our government than any of those truthers do. For example, I don't have the faith that our government could have pulled off 9/11 by hijacking those planes, ditching one where no one could find it, flying a missile into the Pentagon, or perform demolitions on those three WTC buildings. And I have absolutely no faith whatsoever that if they did pull off some type of inside job of that scale that they could keep it quiet for even a week, let alone for nearly six years now. It is just not possible. I have more faith in Big ... So if you don't have faith in the extreme scenario how about one far less complex. Simply allowing an event to happen, one you weren't sure what it would be, but would be enough to be the pretext for your goals. And if that is too extreme. How about planning to launch a war in the event of any terrorism attack whether linked to the country in your cross hairs or not. Those would be much more along the perception management type of rouses that our government and military frequently participate in. I don't think our government has the ability to even keep any specific knowledge they had before hand secret. I just can't see that information, which would pass through a number of hands in the intel community, remaining secret for any length of time. Someone would have sold out for that big book and movie deal by now. Dammit people really, why do you think Bush is pushing for us to put a man on Mars! It makes perfect sense, it is so the Martians can have a iron clad reason for going to war with us, we invaded them FIRST! How about planning to launch a war in the event of any terrorism attack whether linked to the country in your cross hairs or not. Nah, you are thinking to small. Definitely Martian world domination, thats what all the facts point to. What a shame that we have been denied how the Kennedy assassination and the Vietnam war fit into the nefarious plans of W to pave the way for the martian horde. I knew all along that all that mesquite on the ranch was being cleared for landing pads. For those that would like a more serious examination of whether Bush and Cheney were looking to take advantage of any event that might present an opportunity for their desires to remove Saddam consider the following article - Link. I think it's fair to say that there is a good deal of information out there, some from Bush's own inner cabinet, pointing out that Bush and Cheney came to office with an agenda. These are individuals who served in multiple administrations and as executive officers of some of America's largest corporations: Paul O'Neil. Richard Clarke, George Tenet. What I think is too bad is that the wild conspiracy theories overshaddow much more reasonable doubts. Then, they are used by those with an interest in treating the whole issue uncritically to dismiss any and all questions. I am not a nut job. I do not believe in vast conspiracies. I do believe in agendas and I know for a fact that politics is a diabolical business. The doubt we should be raising is not whether Bush planned 9/11 or something like that. The far more alarming reality is that his government had no interest and took no action to prevent terrorist attacks. In the first year of his Presidency diplomacy and security were completely undermined not through conspiracy but neglect. Re... It's funny - I had no idea the numbers were that high. Maybe the takeaway should be "hmm, perhaps there's something I should look here at before I completely dismiss it, all these people can't be completely insane" instead of "Haha, look at how many people are completely insane" Very good point, "ericskiff" In my experience, it is always safe to bet that people aren't as crazy as we think they are. What a shame that we have been denied how the Kennedy assassination and the Vietnam war fit into the nefarious plans of W to pave the way for the martian horde. I knew all along that all that mesquite on the ranch was being cleared for landing pads.MU HAHAHA, I'm well on my way to 1 in 5 Americans! And I have absolutely no faith whatsoever that if they did pull off some type of inside job of that scale that they could keep it quiet for even a week, let alone for nearly six years now. It is just not possible. I have more faith in Big Foot, Nessie, and UFOs than I do in our government's ability to keep a secret.Exactly. People don't realize the scale and scope of such an undertaking. Not only that, we can't keep laptops and hardrives from 'vanishing' on a regular basis chock full of secrets. What it boils down to is the awful truth and they just can't accept it, so they make up their own. That's where conspiracy theories are born. I have yet to see any plausible... I heartily concur with those skeptical of the government's ability to perpetrate a grand deception on the one had, and yet be confounded by Canadian quarters on the other! "truth is stranger than fiction" ; ) It would be nice to know what the truth is. Let's get behind declassifying and releasing the documents that contain what was said between George Tenet and Condolezza Rice about Al Qaeda prior to 9/11. And then we can, as ouyangwulong comments, find out if the Bush Administration had no interest and took no action to prevent terrorist attacks. Publics Right to Know About Al Qaeda Petition. Thank you, I think that is the first constructive idea put forth by any of us on this thread, myself sheepishly included. My hat goes off to you sir. Why stop with just what he said to Rice? I would like to know what kind of information he had and what kind of advice he was giving Clinton that made us pass on Bin Laden multiple times. Nice try on your wording there sooners. The US did not pass multiple times, they failed multiple times in trying to have him killed. What you refer to passing on is the worn out Sudan arguement. The 9/11 Commission addressed that already and determined that there was never a legitamate offer to the US at any time. Link Here is the wording of the 9/11 Commission report: The U.S. government was also interested in another individual with disturbing ties to terrorists, a Saudi named Usama Bin Ladin. Bin Ladin was then based in Sudan. Under the influence of the radical Islamist Hassan al Turabi, Sudan had bec... Since 1979 the Secretary of State has had the authority to name State Sponsors of Terrorism, subjecting such countries to significant economic sanctions. Sudan was so designated in 1993. In February 1996, for security reasons, U.S. diplomats left Khartoum. International pressure further increased as the regime failed to hand over three individuals involved in a 1995 attempt to assassinate Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak. The United Nations Security Council imposed sanctions on the regime. Diplomacy had an effect. In exchanges beginning in February 1996, Sudanese officials began approaching U.S. officials, asking what they could do to ease the pressure. Du... Sudan did offer to expel Bin Ladin to Saudi Arabia and asked the Saudis to pardon him. U.S. officials became aware of these secret discussions, certainly by March 1996. The evidence suggests that the Saudi government wanted Bin Ladin expelled from Sudan, but would not agree to pardon him. The Saudis did not want Bin Ladin back in their country at all.
Bill Clinton 2002 Mr. Bin Laden used to live in Sudan ... And we’d been hearing that the Sudanese wanted America to start meeting with them again. They released him. At the time, '96, he had committed no crime against America so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him, though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America.Maybe someone should have told the president it wasn't a serious offer. Nutjobs fer sure. Wow sooners, you caught someone in a minor wording difference that really makes no overall difference. Speaking of wording differences, we noticed that you said passed several times but you haven't come back with anything. Back to business at hand. Sign the petition to declassify and release what was said between George Tenet and Condolezza Rice concerning Al Qaeda plans prior to 9/11 - Publics Right to Know About Al Qaeda Petition Yes, we also passed on taking him out a couple of times. Why is it you only think Tenet was capable of doing something wrong under Bush but was a saint under Clinton? It's amazing that you miss the point or even the debate that has swirled around the events of 9/11. Tenet isn't the one in question here. It is Condolezza Rice, Bush, and Cheney. Tenet asserts that he gave a full briefing to Rice about impending threats and the administration gave their time and effort to different matters. Rice copped this "I don't recall" (which amazes me how these people get into positions of power and authority without being able to remember jack sh**) Records show that she was briefed by Tenet. Which brings us back to the petition to find out exactly what W and his administration were informed of and how they chose to respond (or not respond). What I remember most a... You can tell when a lib feels cornered, they change the subject. Debate on the Iraq War becomes jibe against tax cuts. Papabeeny you are right, and it annoys me to no end that people can't get their act together and stick to their guns, so to speak, especially when we get go-nowhere amendment debates that never pass on Flag Burnning and Gay Marriage just around election time to rally the conservative base. At least when we change the subject we aren't hate mongering (in the case of the gay issue.) Or did you mean changing the topic like you just did, when instead of addressing any of the arguments you just made an oblique judgement about all liberals? I'd be much more interested in hearing whatever you have to contribute to the discussion, not the peanut gallery. Critiquing through generalizations when evidence and logic fail you on a specific issue is something that I can't stand among both Liberals and Conservatives. Save it for the pundits on CNN. Hey, did you guys know the Mayor of Los Angeles set the Griffith Park fire to take attention off him being out of town during the Pro-Violating the Law Illegal Immigrant rally. Sinister, settings fires like that some people even got burned, he really should resign. Tenet isn't the one in question here. How can he NOT be one of those in question here? He is the central figure when it comes to intel gathering both before and after 9/11. There is no way anyone who really wants to seek the truth could say he isn't THE central figure. Sounds to me more like you are on a witch hunt than a hunt for the truth. BitDrifter, I hear ouyangwulong brought the gas and BobbyRutan the matches. lol Follow the thread sooners, what we want to know is what was the Bush Administration told about impending attacks about Al Qaeda and how did they respond to the information given them. Why don't we both join the petition see what was said, then you can make it a Tenet witch hunt if that's what you want. What we have to date is what Tenet says he said from his own mouth. The ones not wanting to fess up or divulge what they were told is the Bush Administration. The burden of proof right now is on the Bush Administration. LOL!!! Not a laughing matter, this particular topic, still, I feel the need to let all you left wing nutjobs know that you've fallen for a clipper with an agenda! cinq_cinq on clipmarks "why I use clipmarks" For the simple reason that clippings from atheists, secularists and those on the lunatic left of American politics are vastly overrepresented on this medium. Although outnumbered, my wish is for these clips to provide a counterbalance.Of course, c_c has only just recently joined... or has he/she? 1 In 5 Americans Are Crazed, Drooling NutjobsReally?? Amazing. Party politics aside, I would have thought the numbers to be at least 4 in 5... or 4½ even. *LOL* |
