Compared to the foods our bodies were built to eat, processed foods are not healthy. They are often stripped of nutrients designed by nature to protect your heart, such as soluble fiber, antioxidants, and "good" fats. Combine that with additives, and you have a recipe for disaster. Four of the worst are: Trans fats - Replacing trans fats with good fats could cut your heart attack risk by a whopping 53%, Refined grains - the first ingredients should b... Is all good. I was asked about my diet by an optician recently. He said that it was the only thing that could explain the improvements in my sight and eyes. ( He doubted I could be diabetic.) We rarely eat processed foods. The veges from the garden or local markets. Meat alternatives at times. Fresh ocean fish from a neighbour who swaps for lemons. Nuts and fruit. Time to think. There were lapses when we both worked. Your food sources sound like heaven to me. |
