It's about comfort and cowardice...some Corporate asshole flies in gets to shoot an animal and then they land and he gets to take his pic with a bloody wolf. Damn them all, Sarah Palin included since she loves doing it.

The negative imagery of wolves represents the projection of the negative side of humanity, the same side that will demonise anything that moves if it suits it. The wolfman of horror films has nothing to do with the evil of wolves and everything to do with the evil of humanity. As comparing Palin to a pig is an affront to pigs, so too the projection of human cruelty onto other creatures is mockery of anything good that could be said of the human creature.

You hit the head on the nail Pappy. Somehow I can't imagine Palin starting a "drive". Neither the hunters, game, or maybe even woods would be safe!

I think the purpose is to inflate the herds of Wolf prey so there are available for hunting, to hell with the natural balance. It's the GOP platform, seek and destroy, then leave the results for future generations to deal with.

That is exactly what it is. Caribou Barbie is a Caribou huntress. And she doesn't know that the wolves take out the sickly. She just knows they are competition to her hunting party.
