Intuitively, it's pretty clear traffic comes from two types of sources:</DIV>

a) Sources that point back to your blog - advertising on forums, search engine traffic, links in your profile. I will call this "indirect," because even if you load your blog with all the right keywords, what guarantee do you have for a high search engine placement? And no one has to click on a link if they don't want to, even if your link is all over the internet.</DIV>

b) People you actually network with and contact and maybe even befriend.</DIV>

Truth is, you need both sources. You need to network and find some in type "b," and type "a" is vital, esp. if you run ads on your blog.
