Love how eager the media is to make things seem as bad as possible in the US.

First, if 28 million Americans go on food stamps, that would be the largest raw number, but raw numbers are so misleading, just the way the MSM likes them. When it comes to percentages, that is just over 9% of the population. In 1993 and 1994 nearly ten and a half percent of the population was on food stamps, and ten percent were on them in 1995. I don't seem to remember any great depression stories in the Clinton years even though the percentage of people on food stamps was 10-15% higher than today.
