rmowery says: We keep hearing this over and over, first we hear that it is not so bad, then we hear it is incredibly in bad shape. The messages are mixed, not from the President, but from the scientists. If it is really bad, then simply start restricting the things that are causing it. We have technology now, people should telecommute when they can, in fact companies and government should be made to in-act telecommuting for anyone doing IT type work. There are companies doing this and doing it well. Imagine the reduction in pollution, savings in gas, etc that could be accomplished in less than a year. This is just one thought, what else could be done? Geo-engineering should be discussed now, should be researched now, should be debated now. But it is too early to actually do it. What has happened with Holdren's suggestion is to start the discussion/debate/research process, not actually start the project. |
