From website :: This is the History Commons project for the loss of US civil liberties under the current administration, and before. We are currently focusing on several topics, including the expansion of executive power (the “unitary executive”), the NSA’s domestic surveillance program, the use of “national security letters” to force information …

Well just to be on the record, I care.
And I believe a great many people care also.
This is about raw power however. Raw brutal power.
There is also an element of 'this can't be happening' factor involved. After all, if one is raised to believe this country IS such and such, the isness becomes real to the mind, and the mind will only see as unreal or as an anomaly any event that is not consistent with the 'known' isness.

I thought this was all the fault of Chimpy McHitler and Darth Cheney. All the next President has to do is sign some piece of paper and the world will return to color and light. Angels will descend, birds will sing, butterflies will multiply. All freedoms will be restored. All the poor mistreated thugs in Gitmo will be freed. And the whole world will respect America again.

What's this 200 years thing?
