What could the government possibly do that is worse than something like this? His father is lucky he's a TV newsman and knew what buttons to press to get the attention this case deserves.

This is, indeed, a terrible wrong. Canceling policies on people who develop serious illness is another terrible wrong. Not to mention the cost, the exceptions, the co-pays, etc. that make health care something people can't afford.

Which is why we need some big steps toward reform, which the President and Democrats are working towards.

Hopefully some good will come of it.

Update: Rocky Mountain Health Plans, the insurer, said that they will accept Alex as a client. I have no doubt that they only did it to clean up their image and avoid further embarrassment and not because it's the right thing to do and they were wrong to exclude him in the first place.
