spherepet says: 'Thou shalt not kill!' is a commandment of Moses. By what right does any person or group put a bounty on the head of anyone for any reason. What moral justice is there in any punishment that results in the death of another human? We are all equal before the eyes of God. Yet, it seems that there are those who carry out the blind enforcement of religion over others who may or may not have the same ethics, morals and values of life. Just because there are many religions doesn't influence my belief in one God. So, at what point are we held responsible for our actions and the inherent intents that motivate those actions? Apparently, there are religions that make distinctions in responsibility and shades of beliefs that do allow the breaking the prime commandment of 'thou shalt not kill.' I personally cannot condone any belief or cause that would bring about death, even in an act of survival or war. Vilks' caricature is nothing but sick and stupid, not worth the attention of the public. (Really Islam-conscious Muslims shake their head, and that's it.) I say he's making a point for himself stating he can't sympathize or respect the privacy, tradition and cultures of "others". So much for the freedom of expression at the expense of offending your neighbors. |
