masbury says:
Top US official there issues report critical of Israeli settlements on Palestinian land. Will Bush "listen to the General on the ground" or quietly gag the best report they've got?

You never believe the "I listen to the Generals" line, now did you Mas?

Remember he is Commander-in-Chimp!

Given his habit of putting generals in place who already agree with him and getting those removed who don't, it did seem like baloney. But I think it's good to point it out when he so obviously scorns his own talking points.

Suxmonkey: Is sneering all ya got? No arguments? No evidence?

There are far too many Zionist dual-citizenship "American/Israeli" nationals holding high-ranking positions in BushCo to let such a report see the light of day. Let's hope a copy gets leaked somewhere so the truth can be heard.

If you read the article, he is a retired general. Oh and he is on Obama's short list for VP. Wonder why he reports as he does?

But is it inaccurate? Why not comment on whether it is true or not?

Retired generals are often used for special assignments. Being retired doesn't mean he's hanging out on his own time looking for things to do.

He is the ranking US official in the region, on assignment, giving his report - presumably one required by the Bush Admin - up the chain of command.

Are you suggesting Bush is so partisan as to only pay attention to top officials "on the ground" if they're Republicans and agree with him?

Absolutely.

Are you insinuating that the general's report is completely unbiased?

I'm saying don't take anyone's reportage at face value. The hidden agendas are part and parcel of the report.

The President threatens to not give us that option, but to quash the report so we never see it. Look, you put your best people in the field, you brag that you take what they say seriously, and then you ditch their reports if they don't say what you want. We can't throw away the reports of the best and brightest. Sure, evaluate them for bias - but concealing what they say when they disagree is better suited to the Volga than the Potomac.
