Of course Mike thinks gay marriage would be bad for society, bad for marriage, and bad for children.

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. Everyone has a right to fall in love with whomever they choose, and it's inappropriate for him to politic on a "religious" ( I could argue otherwise) platform for government to mediate our relationships. In fact, it is only reinforcing beliefs that are homophobic and teaching others to hate homosexuals.
He is totally free to live his life according to his beliefs; God bless America. But it's morally and civilly wrong for him to prevent other people from being happy in their own love.

you know, there is so much hatred in this world, who cares who loves who!! As long as there is love going around, God bless them I say!

Great clip and comments! With so much poverty homelessness, wars and everything else that makes the world such a sad place why pick on the gays? They're not hurting anybody or anything. The only thing being hurt is your own piece of mind! Get over it and worry about something important.

I'd say that love, whether gay, straight or bi, is covered by the phrase "pursuit of happiness" as one of the unalienable rights promised in the Declaration of Independence (Hooray for Uncle Tom!)

Why is marriage "sacred"?

What is sacred about abusive spouses & parents, legal contracts and government intrusion?

Discrimination is discrimination is discrimination.

And be real. As many "gay" marriages would be broken in 5 years as straight marriages.

The divorce courts & lawyers are beginning to see the strain of the economy as people cannot afford to split. We need to decriminalize it for that reason alone.

Not to mention that once it occurs the bias towards women/wives will have to be brought to light and fixed. As it should be.

Hey Thorne! How are you baby?

Well Gemfem,
Perhaps you have an argument about condemning gays to marriage, and why should gays advocate equality when they already enjoy superiority?

The fact of the matter is that people fall in love, get married and some people fall out of love and get divorced, and I guess we could ban divorce, but I don't think that would work out too well for anyone. Gays should not be denied the same civil rights as straights whether it be marriage or divorce. As far as marriage being sacred, I would argue it is only as such as in the minds of those who are married.

There was a man who said, "I never knew what happiness was until I got married...and then it was too late!"

I think before people get married they should whether they are gay or straight should take some kind of preparedness course. It's still not a guarantee that the marriage will be a success but they'll have a better idea of what it's about. Or marriage should be a a renewable contract, say after 7 years you have to sign a new one or you're no longer married.
My parents will have been married 60 years this April. That's about 60 years too long. I've never seen them do anything but fight or one or the other gives in but is angry.
