Uniec says: I must admit that I've used Wikipedia without ALWAYS checking all the information, but it seems that we should ... A few years ago I took a few college courses. What I found strange was that we could not use the internet for actual information. We could only use it to find reference material already in book form. An old friend of mine was once a copy checker for Encyclopædia Britannica, and, according to him, a fair amount of misinformation went into the books because there was just too much material to check. I once posted a bit of fiction on Wikipedia at a public library computer, just to see what would happen - by the time I got home, it had been removed. |
