This alone makes us a much more attractive alternative to traditional health insurance. Yes, we do have limits but there are two sides to having limits. Stibroker, like the rest of the health insurance industry would have you believe that you don't have any insurance if you don't have a million dollar policy. They fail to tell you that the most common policy for healthy people (unhealthy ones need not apply), doesn't start paying for services until the claims total $5,000.00 You have to ask yourself, "Why am I paying for health insurance when I have to pay for doctor visits and prescriptions and everything else when I pay such a high monthly rate?" TexHealth defines "underinsurance" or limited benefits as a policy that ignores your everyday healthcare needs. Our focus is on helping you pay for your everyday healthcare needs, seeing a doctor regularly or as needed instead of waiting until you have to go to the ER. Now, Stibroker makes it sound like TexHealth is completely removed from the Texas Department of Insurance. I would like to inform him that TDI has awarded TexHealth Central Texas and the other 3 Share plans in Texas a grant for premium assistance for low wage earners. But when you are sitting across the desk at MD Anderson needing $500,000 worth of treatment $5,000 is a drop in the bucket to save your life....that is why we carry insurance in today's market...Health Care Reform is not about getting the Uninsured insured but rather the Doctors and Hospitals paid.....which with a major event your plan...
