This is the current cover of GQ magazine on the racks now. Yesterday at Target, I was looking at DVDs with my 5-year-old daughter. The magazine racks were by the movies and I heard my daughter say "Mommy, look at this naked man!"

I turn around and see this cover. Is this an appropriate cover in a store where children are often shopping?

If it was a picture of the statue David, I wouldn't have cared, but his bothered me. Is it art? Should this issue have had a wrapper or should Target have put it behind other magazines to reduce the amount of exposed cover?

Would it have mattered if it was a woman? I think it might have bothered me more.

Does it rise to the highest levels of inspired art? No. Is it offensive? No, unless one is so prudish as to believe that people don't have rumps. There is no display of genitals or anal crevice.

It's satire. While I won't label him brilliant by any measure, Sacha Baron Cohen is a satirist. I'm very confident this photo was intended as such. I'm sure he'd be laughing his non-exposed ass off at your concern, mousie.

While there's nothing wrong with the picture as it doesn't show anything except the fact he is naked. The magazine could have been displayed on a rack high enough for an adult to see but to high for a child to see it clearly.

I am willing to spill my beans here. Quite surprised at myself for thinking it, really. But here goes it....

My first thought when seeing this was, "oh god, this guy must be gay." Shocked? I was at myself for thinking it. After looking at it for a moment and reading the above comments, 1) I do not know who is on the cover nor do I know of this "sasha" person. 2) If this was a woman, I bet my sweet bippy that my first thought would not have been, "oh god this chick is gay."

Now you have it and I'm ashamed. *hiding tail btwn legs and running off*

He's probably naked because he suffered serious burns after trying to bleach his body hair. He plays a gay Austrian fashion reporter in his new film "Bruno" and thought using strong chemicals would make him look "all-over hairless."

Straight actors who portray gay people as sitting around hairless and naked with bug eyes after pouring toxic chemicals on their body isn't funny. I haven't seen Neil Patrick Harris in that pose.

And Target needs to use better judgment about what is on display. Parents should get to decide when their child is old enough to view Sacha Baron Cohen's bare butt, not Target,.

So, clip. Are you going to start a shuttargetstoresforshowingsachabaroncohenbarebutt.com website soon? Seems like that is the next step from your ilk.

I think it's pretty sick....and so must the person be who is being an exhibitionist and believes people *want* to see him naked. What an ego! GQ is scrapping the bottom.

Prude? How about personal dignity and a healthy sense of shame?

What is shameful about the human body, jat? How has he lost his dignity? It's not as though he's masturbating on the cover of the magazine.

If we are going to get all moral over the suggestion of something I think we should all stand together and demand that public stores like Target, Walmart, K-Mart, and the like stop peddling a certain book that delves into bestiality, rape, murder, incest, slavery, and the like ...

Thanks for all the feedback!

Bear, the reason I asked for others' opinions is because I wasn't sure how I felt about it. I realize that his genitals aren't on display, but how a five-year-old sees things is different than how I see things. My kid has no problems with nudity. Why should she? But we have discussed modesty, which is why she cannot go in public naked.

I didn't hear anyone suggest that we boycott Target. I was just wondering if perhaps Target could have placed the magazine on a higher shelf or behind another magazine. Is it really asking a lot? I was just surprised to see it on the stand for her to see so easily.

I guess if it makes me a prude to want to keep my child from s...
