We know now though that NewsWeek is a magazine of the world. It has no more allegiance to America, nor is any of the media really "of this country." I think that is pretty passe'.
It will all be toward the "world of citizens",anyway, and the EU, NAU, African Union,etc. with little sense of countries any more.
Used to be, these rags felt part of USA and there was a sense of USA first.
I'm coming to realize that, sadly, it is no longer.

I stopped reading Newsweek in the 1980's when they started publishing "NEWS", like melatonin could change sleep patterns and how great a breakthrough it could be and then 2 months later they had an alarmist story about how the number of people taking melatonin had increase 4 times in the last year.
They shape the news and then report on their shaping!

I could care less about what ol' what-cha-call-him has to say about anything. I'm more worried about our OWN Hitler wannabe, GW Bush. Now there's an asshole worth mentioning.

"No allegiance to the U.S." I didn't know they taught allegiance to country in Journalism school?

Again, Newsweek no longer qualifies as a journalistic text. This magazine now has more in common with StarMagazine or NationalEnquirer. Please don't cite Newsweek as a legitimate news source.

Figuratively, the magazine writers give birth to a story, nurture it, dress it up and send it out into the world. Then other Newsweek staff report on the magazine's own propaganda when it grows up and comes back to them fully grown.
