Racism is built into the social fabric of the U.S. Just read the Constitution for some examples.
A great many of the population are racist and don't even know it.

Jimmy Carter is a degreed engineer. If anyone's a "mental midget", I submit that it's more likely to be anotherblackconservative.blogspot.com

Actually, now that I think about it, the very existence of a black conservative strongly suggests it.

You got it, mousie! Being a conservative and black demands that the person is a stupid Uncle Tom. s/off

Your guy is right on!! And some of us are getting pretty tired of being called "liars" too. But the Libs have to keep the race-issue front and center so they can keep convincing people that conservatives hate them and thereby get their support and votes.

What I'm being told in the media and by my countrymen is: A white person is conservative because he is a racist and a black person is a conservative because he is an idiot.

It's win/win!

Of course racism exists and some people are racist. However, when the racism is manufactured it dilutes the impact of actual racism, which we as a nation should surely stand against.

The era of Angela Davis (as well as J. Jackson & A. Sharpton) is long passed but they still hang around to stir their own money pot.

Maybe it was manufactured, I don't know.
But to say that only "some people" are racist is misleading.
In fact, the existing social structure creates buffers between white and non-whites which shelters the former from ever having to face a situation where racism might come into play, helping to cultivate a self-deluding notion that they themselves would act other than racist when put in a compromising situation, one in which they must choose between acting humanely or kissing up to white supremacist ideals.
The tree we should be barking up is the one that allows the disparities between prison terms for whites and blacks for similar crimes. Why waste energy on hot-head politicians who have unlimited access to "our" airwaves?

Are you suggesting that our society is structured so that all people are inherently racist?

Okay. Sounds like something worth tackling.

Boy, the statistics on black crime vs white crime and who gets put back on the street most often would be insightful. Repeat offenders? Oh my. Facts are not racist.

I am suggesting that racism is far more widespread in the U.S. than people think and that when push comes to shove and people get forced into corners financially, whites will generally side with whites on questions of race. Acting otherwise threatens to jeopardize ones social standing which is becoming more and more vital as the economy falters, de-industrializes, downsizes and more people become disfranchised.

Go and live in that repeat offender's neighborhood and see how long you last.

The accusation of RACISM is the last refuge of people who do not share the same ideology.
It is a commonly used tactic to silence anyone who dares to oppose their viewpoint.

Why can't people just disagree because of opposite
fundamental beliefs? It isn't always about RACISM!

Racist much? Can't stand the thought of an independent thinking black man?

To make up charges of racism just to score political points is nothing less than pure evil.
It is a commonly used tactic to silence anyone who dares to oppose their viewpoint.
Yes, pure evil. And so it is also, when the people constantly holler antisemite at anyone and everyone who dares question the policies of Israel. Hmm?

Or when people claim the Jews are racists every time they defend themselves against Palestinian attacks....

All who oppose Obama's policies are racists.
All who oppose Israeli policies are antisemites.
All muslims are evil terrorists.
All westerners are evil capitalists.
All rightwingers are angry and hateful.
All leftwingers are ignorant and delusional.
All blondes are stupid.
All men are dawgs. (*LOL*)

All generalisations are dangerous, even this one. .

The Fugitive Slave Clause.
Just like the designation of a slave as 3/5 of a person, these were moves to limit the power of the slave states, to increase the anti-slavery movement, and lay groundwork for eventually freeing the slaves. The Declaration of Independence states all men are created equal....not just white, American men.

There may be some truth to what you say, but Jefferson, Washington and I'm sure many other "founding fathers" employed large quantities of slaves themselves which, no doubt, contributed to their vast wealth. The average farmer, in what is lauded as an egalitarian society, could not afford to spend 4 1/2 months in Philadelphia debating the details of the Constitution.
