bignosemousie says: We’re conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments. But great moments often catch us unaware - beautifully wrapped in what others may consider a small one. ...wow..“I’m in no hurry. I’m on my way to a hospice.”.... ...incredible story. Thanks, bnm Oh geeez, mousie; how sad! I remember when Husband's mother died, he had the hearse drive all around town to places that were special to her...the place where she'd been born, the Capital where her husband had served in government, the high school she had attended and the women's college, and then slowly by her church and house. It was so sad...and yet so touching. That story was just SAD to me. Well, it is a sad story, but underneath is the taxi cab driver's realization that something that could have been so small was so much bigger and meaningful. For me, it meant that no matter how small something seemed to me, it could be (and might be) so much bigger to someone else. I must be mindful of that. Especially with my little one. Ok...you are right. Little ones remember the strangest things. I think earliest memories go back to around 5-6. The things that I thought were the most memorable (good & bad) turned out to be things they didn't remember at all...and vice versa. It was odd to talk with them as adults and realize that what impacted them the most...usually I had no idea. And yet, *I* agonized over a fault/failure that they didn't even remember. Good clip. Ok...you are right.LOL! Good clip.Thank you. Had read it a long back: thanks for the reminder. For me, it meant that no matter how small something seemed to me, it could be (and might be) so much bigger to someone else.POP for that comment Thanks very much, mousie. This clip reminded me of the last time I ever had Dad in the car. He was a world traveler and this was his very last trip out in the world. I had taken him from the nursing home to the hospital to see Mom. He gave me a very special and touching comment as we drove back to the home which I shall always cherish. He gave me a very special and touching comment as we drove back to the home which I shall always cherish. What a nice memory, and a great small moment. I enjoy hearing my daughter say "mom, remember when we..." and she relays a small moment for me that still means so much to her. It helps me think I'm doing something right. I suspect I might just be lucky. Thanks for the comments, everyone. A very humbling clip and makes us take stock of the pieces of our lives that make up the mosaic of the master plan. How tiny, yet colorful, and fitting imperfectly to color the whole. Touching! So very touching! Held time for me, even if for a few minutes! A jewel. Why can't God, our Creator, apply quality control and produce more of you, dear mousie. thanks for the beautiful moment. What a lovely thing to say, Benaloy. Thank you. You might enjoy this clip, too. |
