These experiments have been going on and on since psychology began over 100 years ago. The outcome is always the same. With very little pressure upon them, people will torture others. In most cases 60 to 70% of them need no encouragement at all. We are cruel creatures.
It all goes to the old saying of "Absolute power corrupts absolutely".
