cptenaud says: Alexis Debat, director of terrorism and national security at the Nixon Center, said last week that US military planners were not preparing for "pinprick strikes" against Iran's nuclear facilities. "They're about taking out the entire Iranian military," he said. Are we having fun yet? Here's Debat's (Debat-sh*t?) perfectly rational reasoning: "Whether you go for pinprick strikes or all-out military action, the reaction from the Iranians will be the same." It was, he added, a "very legitimate strategic calculus". Will someone please take him away and put him in a rubber room? According to one well placed source, Washington believes it would be prudent to use rapid, overwhelming force, should military action become necessary Prudent? Prudent? It's "prudent" to plan to bomb the hell out of yet another country that didn't attack us first? And create utter havoc in an already utter-havocked region? Is he nuts? But Debat believes the Pentagon’s plans for military action involve the use of so much force that they are unlikely to be used and would seriously stretch resources in Afghanistan and Iraq. Ouch! I just experienced whiplash. So we're not using military force? We're just planning to use it? We had "no plans" to invade Iraq, Bush said, and then we did. So if we do have plans to attack Iran, does that mean we won't? I have a headache. Someone make it go away. More Comes Out About Plans To Attack Iran by cli... This is sickening! We are the bad guys. If any country bombed us, we would claim righteous indignation.. I wish I could move out of here -- to Canada or Ireland - maybe Righthand would show me the sites. The whole world will turn on us for this action. The war in Iraq was supposed to last a week or so. That's what they said, but they damn well knew better. The attempt is to make warfare a permanent state of affairs, which is supposed to keep people afraid, and submissive. War is not peace. They want to send the average citizens to fight, when those with the most to gain wont go near a war zone, unless it's for a photo opportunity (they are running out of space) The people have nothing to gain, and are losing what little freedom they are supposed to have left. This is not war for the sake of resolution, this is war for the sake of chaos in all but the elite. When the rulebook disappears, war takes no prisoners. It causes us to be held capti... May I recommend A brief history of Iran-US relations. It's an outrageous tale. The hole is getting deeper and there is no getting away. Let's not forget to thank AIPAC and the right-wing Jewish lobby supporters such as Senator Lieberman who has been working hand in hand with Dick Cheney to lead us into a war to the finish with Iran. Lieberman says we need to do this to protect Israel. If Israel needs to save it self from Iran, it has more than enough of its own military power to do so. We do not need to get involved in this. I am so damned angry at my very own Jewish community who embraces this right-wing ideology and believes that whatever is best for Israel is automatically best for the U.S. Lieberman should go to Israel and run for prime minister. Then I would respect his views more. OMG! omg! And worst is that they are stupid enough to do it! |
