masbury says: What might the admin be planning in the 18 months that remain? The American voters are informing their representatives that they want Cheney impeached and their representatives are ignoring them. Kucinich is a courageous man who is listening to the people and doing all in his power to serve them. How sad it would be if the history books had nothing more than talk to judge this regime by? Action is noticed by future generations, not rhetoric. people should just move forward toward the elections and elect a new president? The problem here is not in fact whether it is worth going down the Impeachment road, the problem is can you afford NOT to. When public officials are elected to office we have every right to expect them to uphold the law, and just because the two at the top flout the law does not mean you just sit back and wait fro a new two at the top. Many of the people who sit back and keep their mouths shut will still be there when a new president is elected, and no matter who is at the top the whole government will lack credibility. You HAVE to do something and now, if you wish the next adminis... And if you want precedent for future administrations to be other than what Bush and Cheney have done. I don't care much about getting blood from them (though that would be just), but I care a great deal about leaving a judicial record that says, "The chief executive of the USA cannot do what these men have done." The precedent remains - and the US is different that it was - until their actions are shown to be definitively illegal by impeachment. |
