adamc says: I skimmed through a Krishnamurti book years ago and this idea has stuck with me since. I'd say obtaining a state of choiceless awareness is near the top of my new years resolution list. being a fan of Krishnamurti and a long time reader I like your resolution adam, yet dare I say that its a high tree you have chosen here. there is no doubt in my mind that choiceless awareness is a neccessary condition for an evolved consciousness, and a free one at that. can it be a resolution?a yearly resolution? I doubt it. it seems to me that such a lofty goal is a lifelong quest. having said the above, I salute each and any human with goals such as these. I'd love to know how you plan to go about it. cheers and good luck I wish you the best luck on your endeavor. I'm still trying to grasp such a concept and it is not easy. It's a difficult concept in our culture. To be a choiceless observer you must be completely detached of everything. Nothing belongs to you and you belongs to nothing. At the same time you must be completely attached to everything. You are part of the whole and the whole is part of you. Huh..? I agree with Wildcat. It's a lifelong search. Maybe impossible to reach but worth trying. Good luck!!! Good luck. Expect attaining that state to take decades at least. But you can definitely experience some shifts in awareness in the short term if you are committed to the project. Thats such an awesome goal. I'd be happy to not fall asleep when I meditate. |
