philgh says:
So does that mean that the baby too can sue the doctor for making him come into the world?

what a can of worms this opens...
-imagine being the kid discovering not only were you unwanted but your parents are being financially compensated for your very existance
-could you sue the father for an unwanted pregnancy?
-should rapists pay compensation for raising a child they produced?
-is there any end to the things doctors can be sued for? how much would you hate to be paying their premiums these days
-how do you put a price on a person?? where did they pull €600 a month from? why not sue for psychological trauma, for time lost parenting the child etc while you're at it?
no matter how many times i see the latest thing someone has successfully sued for, it still astonishes me...is there no limit to liability?

WTH? Surely this thing has a failure rate that the dr. is not responsible for. I mean, you can't sue if your condom breaks. I'm sure someone has tried.

This is ridiculous.

the 600 Euros a month value is the standard child support that one has to pay in Germany, I think.

Sure, let people start suing for condoms that break.
It would make interesting reading and I'll follow those cases everyday!
