Guillaume says: Asimov's first law of robotics (in his SF books) is that robots can't harm humans. Those new US army combots will not only be able to, they will be built for that. Soon the Matrix ? I was picturing myself the guncracy robot from Robocop, but at 17 bullets/second it's still pretty scary. I'm sure the crappy camera on these remote controlled robots will easily distinguish between a civilian and an enemy combatant. *sarcasm* I guess that is why the 1000 rnds/sec, ther won't be enough left of the victem to identify them as either Go progress!!! It's easy, the civilian has a big red cross hovering over his head, and you, oose points if you kill him. Every other moving thing has to be killed instantly. In videogames, anyway... Later the US plans to replace the control system of the bots with a "Gameboy" type of controller hooked up to virtual reality goggles.America's Army anyone? Guillaume, LOL! |
