On the surface (no pun intended) this looks like a really great idea. However, after reading the article, they addressed the same fears and questions I had ... like infection and comfort/pain of the device piercing the skin: "The manufacturers would have to demonstrate that making lots of small holes in the skin wasn't letting bacteria and viruses in and causing infection." They even questioned if this devise will prove to be cost effective: "Certainly there is a lot of potential for microneedles, but you also wonder whether it will end up costing too much to deliver a drug which costs pennies."
