Teachers have a relationship with their text, but the conflation of the electronic author with their textual output has been described as 'unsupportable' (Bassett and O'Riordan, 2002; Borland, 1991). Teachers are projecting versions of a teacher self, which is formed in connection with ideas about what it is to be a 'professional'. This concept is in constant flux, in their experience and in their conceptualisation. Teachers are trying out different aspects of professionalism. What it means is in a constant state of shift, and further discourse will impact upon its changing significance.
