Yes there are plenty of documents that state Global warming is a myth, but there are many, many more that shows extended proof, not 'proof' from one winter.

If you track temperatures and CO2 levels in the 20th century you will see that both increased together up until 1940 then, as CO2 levels started to increase dramatically because of WWI and the post-war industrial boom, the earth's temperature declined for the next 35 years. So much so that scientists, including NASA's James Hansen, were heralding the beginning of a man-made ice age.

Then as CO2 levels continued to increase the earth's temperature started to increase again, and the panic eventually became man-made global warming. And James Hansen was leading the charge. Note how many of the AGW proponents start their charts in the mid 1970s.

The reappearance of Arctic ice and the relative coolness of 2008 may or may not be an anomaly, so it proves nothing. It is the longer term trends that matter.

If you take the historical data from Al Gore's famous 600,000 chart and analyze it (and don't just put it up on a big screen and make jokes about how the CO2 line and temperature line seem to match each other) you will find that increases in CO2 trail temperature increases by decades, even centuries in some cases. This is an EXTREMELY important fact to understand.

The world's oceans contain the vast majority of the CO2 on the planet. When the earth's temperature increases (most likely due to increased solar radiation) the oceans can no longer retain CO2 so they release it by the billions of tons. The relationship between CO2 levels and temperatures is exactly the opposite of what Al Gore implies. Go back and listen to his words in the movie. He never actually says that his chart proves that increased CO2 levels cause higher temperatures

Since Mars is farther away from the sun it's gravity is much weaker than Earth's, allowing Mars' gasses and energy to eventually slip away into space. It is not a very intelligent argument to say that because Mar's has a bunch of CO2 floating around it and it's cold, that then CO2 must have no effect on global temperatures.

CO2 warms the earth, most agree with this. But the argument really lies in whether it matters when compared to other green house gasses (probably the gas that leads to most warming is water vapor, not much we can do about that), or whether humans can even contribute enough CO2 to affect anything.
