His grim-faced crusade to brand his opponent as a traitor who <A href="http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/07/24/mccain_wont_back_down_on_obama.html">wants</A> to “lose a war” isn’t even a competent impersonation of Joe McCarthy.
